Frusciante

Posted on January 12, 2004

"all he wants to do is be creative." "he doesn't care about money or personal hygiene or anything else. and he never has. if we made $10,000, he'd give it to the pizza delivery guy. he only cares about art." michael balzary, a.k.a. flea on guitar god john frusciante.

for christmas masako got me the red hot chili peppers greatest hits album and i've been listening to it non-stop ever since. it also came with a dvd including all their videos since blood sugar sex magik and higher ground from mother's milk. i was suprised the video for the newly released track fortune faded (which is also on the cd) was not on the dvd, but can be seen online.

i'm fond of the nightshot with the volkswagen van. it's full of mysteri and adventurous mood. the coffeeshot is great too. the coffeedrinker had a bad day and crossed the street into the night. an image with a story!

If John Frusciante is such an art martyr why does he devote so much of his waxing poetic time with the GLOBAL BUSINESS of the Red Hot Chili Peppers?

Global Business? i guess that's more a question for flea cause that's where the quote came from. i see what you are saying, but john is also a solo artist with 3 albums under his belt and another due sometime this year. one of the reasons he left the peppers was that he saw the life of the rock and roll star conflicting with his being creative. As for why he came back, i donno, but im glad.

Maybe he came back because he needed the money?
